On Tuesday and Thursday the Fablab is open for the public. On these days students, curious visitors and all kind of professionals; architects, form-givers, interaction designers and individuals with small companies come in and translate the ideas they have in their heads to physical prototypes and/or products.
Formally my job was to get the people going on the machines. I helped them with preparing their drawings and setting up the machines. Besides support I also used these open days to discuss the designs people were working on to gain insights in their design process, the context of their designs and the decisions they’d made. This broadened my view on design on a more abstract level and resulted in tips/tricks on a more practical level.
The pictures show examples of helping other’s with prototyping, workshops and small projects i did. The majority of these projects is documented on the Fablab website, in the Fab Moments section so others can benefit from it.
