Goals

Before I started this semester I formulated some personal learning goals to help me structure my workload and ensure proper competency development. I will briefly put them forward as they are reflected upon on the Reflections page.

User, Design, Technology

Follow an iterative design process with the main industrial design pillars implemented. Using contextual inquiry technique to built an affinity diagram that maps general themes to keep a birds eye perspective on the project.

  • User/Client Involvement: Contextual Inquiry, Technology Probes, Interviewing
  • Design/Concept Development: Vision, Ideation, (Social) Interaction Styles, Product Design
  • Technology/Prototyping: Workshop Computer Vision, Technology Probes, Prototype Iterations

Visualizing Ideas and Concepts

To improve the way I communicate my ideas and concepts I want to learn 3D modeling. Illustrator worked good for me to design and refine 2D objects with a laser cutter. I would like to learn Rhinoceros for 3D design, visualization (rendering) and prototype design. This can help me to communicate my ideas efficiently and focus on discussion about the object’s use, design and/or other aspects, instead of endless talk to describe the object.

Integration & Identity

This goal has a lot to do with the theme of the third year and with the goal of an final bachelor’s project in general and is twofold; shortest summary possible: What am I capable of doing?, What is my vision on design? and What is my identity?.

Welcome

Welcome to my showcase portfolio.

Use the past, present, future tabs to see a selection of the work I've done during my studies Industrial Design. The items represent a certain learning activity, which is shortly described and is further illustrated with pictures and/or movies.

The goals, reflection and growth & identity tabs show my progression on a reflective level. I reflect on this semester, my studies and take a peak into my future.
